“I think it is such a great way that we can show off all of the amazing things that are going on on east campus,” said Jessie Brophy, IANR director of external engagement and partnerships. 

As summer rolls around, the East Campus Discovery Days kick off next weekend! IANR Vice Chancellor Mike Boehm previews what attendees can expect.

“It’s been fun to see this event grow and evolve over the years,” Brophy said. “It’s almost more like a festival than a farmers market, and it’s become of one my favorite events of the year.”

Farmers' Markets have set their opening dates for the spring and summer! Farmers' Markets are wonderful places to get fresh, local produce, meat, flowers and more.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources is seeking farmers, other vendors and Husker departments to participate in the third annual East Campus Discovery Days and Farmers Market.

The final East Campus Discovery Days and Farmers Market event of 2022 is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 13.

“If you learn how to hold an insect and learn, they aren’t scary,” said Associate Professor of Entomology Doug Golick. “If you can engage with them, there’s less fear, and I think kids love to hold insects.”
